First please let me say I *love* Amazon, have a Prime membership (highly recommend) and have loved 99% of what they sell. Unfortunately, this was not the case for this necklace. At the time I am writing this review, no one else had, so my hope is that I help make your decision easier and give you some more details. After going back and forth in my mind, I have decided to return this item for a refund because it just wasn’t worth $15 to me personally, the cost at the time of my purchase.
If you’re someone like me who sometimes forgets to really read the description Amazon provides for the item you’re looking at and only looks at the photo instead – this is one of those times where it does make a difference! Here is Amazon’s description: “Let your love open the door with the Rose Gold Sterling Silver Pave Heart Key Pendant. Measuring almost 2 inches, this delicate 925 sterling silver key has a rose gold overlay and glittering cubic zirconia stones that add to the sweetness of the heart-shaped design. An 18-inch rolo chain that fastens with a spring-ring clasp positions the key right over your heart, making this necklace a great choice paired with a V-neck top.” They also state that the width of the heart pendant is 0.7 inches, height is 1.81 inches and the chain is 18 inches. Consider how small that pendant really is. Yet the title of this pendant says “Large Cubic Zirconia Pave Heart Key.” To me, it’s far from large.
The 2 words in the Amazon description that should be highlighted in bold are “delicate” and “glittering.” One is true and one is false. This necklace is delicate, very dainty. Just like most every other jewelry seller, Amazon made the pendant appear larger in the photo compared to actual size so that we could see the details. So please, pay attention to the actual size listed because in person, this heart pendant is in my opinion, fairly small. It does have some length to it, as shown but the frame itself, as well as width are tiny. If you are someone who is looking for a dainty piece, you just might love this one. Now for the false word: “glittering.” This is the sole reason this pendant gets 2 stars from me and was returned for a refund. Usually most pave settings with lots of CZ stones can have real sparkle but this piece that I received did not shine at all – outdoors or indoors. The stones are extremely tiny and looked dirty somehow. This really was my biggest disappointment – the lack of shine or “glitter” as they put it. On the positive side, the rose gold overlay is pretty in my opinion and the chain was dainty but pretty also which is why I gave this necklace 2 stars instead of 1. The reason my review title says “Could have been a 5 star necklace” is because if those CZ stones really sparkled like they should have, it would be gorgeous and a real bargain for a beautiful piece of jewelry!
So if you’re looking for a very understated (not noticing CZ stones much) dainty and unique heart necklace, you just might love it. If not, you could be disappointed like me. But, Amazon’s return policy is very easy and friendly so you could try it out and see what you think. I sincerely hope this review helps you!
